Sophie Clough

Materials:
untreated plank of wood
rope
white paint
drill
flat wood drill bit
white wall hooks

Description of your project:
Hanging rope shelf

How you made your project:

'I bought a piece of untreated wood from B&Q and drilled four holes in each corner of the wood 1inch from the edge using a flat wood drill bit. After this I then painted both sides white which took two coats. I cut down the rope to the length I wanted it and fed this through the four holes tying it in a knot underneath.
I then got the two pieces of rope together on each side and tied them in a knot at the top. I then attached two big white hooks into the wall and placed the knots over the hooks which left the shelf hanging. I had to adjust the knots to ensure the shelf hung straight.'

Where you got your inspiration from:

'My main inspiration came from Pinterest, I started searching for hanging shelves after seeing one a while ago in a magazine.'

Overall cost:

'The cost of my project overall was approximately £18.'
