You will need
Christmas fir tree garland, Hobbycraft
oasis wreath blank, available from local florists
MDF gingerbread house, Daisy Moon Designs
MDF row of houses, Daisy Moon Designs
MDF mini houses, Daisy Moon Designs
red and white acrylic paint
hot glue gun
MDF laser cut birds, Daisy Moon Designs
gold acrylic paint
toy stuffing, Hobbycraft
Begin by snipping sprigs of the faux fir tree leaves from the garland, and poking them into the wreath blank until it is completely covered and dense with leaves. Decorate the gingerbread house and the row of houses with white and red paint, then a selection of the mini MDF houses with red paint, and leave to dry.
Once the houses are dry, use hot glue to secure them into place on the wreath, nestling them between the leaves and holding down firmly until they are securely stuck. We chose to stick the gingerbread house at the bottom of the wreath, the row of houses at the top, and the mini MDF houses in between.
Paint two MDF birds with gold paint and leave to dry. Secure these to the top left and right sides of the wreath to decorate. Finally, pull out small handfuls of stuffing and nestle them underneath each house – these should catch on the fir tree leaves and stay secure without gluing. Add a piece of string or a ribbon for hanging, and the wreath is complete.
