Remember remember the 5th November… gunpowder, treason and FIREWORKS!

 

The clocks have gone back, Halloween is just days away, which means it's officially time to plan your 2019 fireworks night.

Although Sainsbury's may not be selling fireworks this year, there are still thousands of firework displays taking place all over the UK this weekend, the question is – what are the best UK firework displays?

We've taken a look at the events going on this weekend to mark Guy Fawkes' historic attempt to assassinate King James I, and have picked some of the best UK firework displays and bonfires that the whole family can enjoy!

Fireworks Spectacular Ascot Racecourse, Ascot

Saturday, 2nd November from 4pm

Tickets from £5 (child) and £7 (adult)

With over 20,000 fireworks launched, Ascot Racecourse's Fireworks Spectacular is a must-see!

At this firework display you can simply walk up alongside the iconic racing track, which will be host to afternoon of horse racing, and enjoy one of the region's largest firework displays while listening to an inspiring, carefully timed, soundtrack.

Not only will there be an excellent display, there will also be an array of fun fairground rides, including dodgems, a helter skelter, and a waltzer!

Plus, for an extra £10 each, you can get closer to the action and watch from the Level 4 viewing decks of the King Edward VII enclosure.

Lights Up Lansdown Fireworks, Bath Racecourse

Friday, 1st November from 5pm

Tickets from £4 (child) and £6 (adult)

What could be better than watching an amazing firework display? Watching an amazing firework display that's co-ordinated to a Disney soundtrack, that's what! 

Featuring a blazing 10 meter-high bonfire, a funfair, tasty treats, as well as a spectacular 10-minute firework display, it's the perfect family-friendly event.

Just stand back with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a fantastic firework display to a soundtrack including The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and of course, Frozen!

Battersea Park Fireworks, London

Saturday, 2nd November from 6pm

Tickets from £10 and must be purchased in advance. Under 10s go free.

Forming the backdrop for legendary bands such as Pink Floyd and The Who, Battersea Park is the place to be for show-stopping fireworks.

Gates open at 6pm and visitors can watch the bonfire being lit at 7.30pm. Then, later on the whole family can enjoy a massive 20-minute firework show, lighting up Battersea Park, and of course the iconic Battersea Power Station. 

Just don't forget to bring cash, as the park doesn't have any card facilities onsite!

Mersey Ferry Fireworks Cruise, Liverpool

Sunday, 3rd November

Tickets from £12.50 (child) and £20 (adults)

Make your fireworks night extra-special this year with a river-side view! 

It's time to hop aboard the Mersey Ferry vessel and enjoy the Liverpool fireworks from the comfort of the River Mersey!

With fireworks being set-off from floating barges along the river, you'll have a front row seat to the best pyrotechnics in the region, plus you'll also be able to enjoy live music, an interactive photo booth, hot food and light refreshments, plus a licensed bar throughout the evening on the cruise.

Port Eliot Bonfire Night & Fireworks, Cornwall

Tuesday, 5th November from 4pm

Tickets from £3 (child) and £5 (adult)

Port Eliot House and Gardens in Saltash will be open to a night of fun and fireworks on Tuesday, 5th November, as they gear up for their Bonfire Night celebrations! 

Incredibly helpful for younger families, this event will have two firework displays – a quieter one at 5.30pm and then the main display at 8.30pm, meaning the whole family can enjoy the fireworks!

Plus, with a hog roast, chilli, pizza and baked potatoes on offer alongside live music, it really is the perfect way to spend Bonfire Night.
