You've finally exchanged, the boxes are being unpacked, it should be home sweet home – right?
If you've ever moved home, you'll know the last thing on your mind after the big day is moving again – or is it?
According to a recent survey conducted by the premier window furnishing company, Thomas Sanderson, a whopping 1 in 3 homeowners have searched for a new property within one year of buying a new home.
Whether its just browsing online or actively booking viewings, new homeowners seemingly aren't happy with their new home life and are searching for new pastures!
Plus, 7% of these restless homeowners also admitted to searching for a new property within the first month of moving, citing the reason for looking elsewhere as wanting to see what else they could have bought for the same price.
Other reasons included…
1. I wanted to see what I could have bought for the price (22%)
2. I regretted buying my home (20%)
3. I wanted to relocate (18%)
4. I felt like I made a mistake (15%)
5. I felt like I could no longer afford my property (14%)
Out of all the homeowners surveyed, nearly a fifth (19%) said they were actively looking to buy another property, rather than just searching, within a year of buying their new home.
But it's not all doom and gloom, because 16% said they were happy with their home, and 30% said they were moderately happy!
What do you think? Are you happy in your home or have you been tempted to move?
