Research has revealed six in 10 Brits are constantly working on their home, and they'll typically have over 16 small projects that they would like to tackle at any one time.
This means there will be more than 435 million home improvement projects on the agenda across the UK, while 84 per cent of the population have said they tend to several little projects at any one time, which they think will have a big impact on their homes.
A poll of over 2,000 homeowners was carried out by B&Q, revealing it's the kitchen which will be most in need of attention (24 per cent). In total, nearly half of owners have said their most lived-in room of the house was actually the kitchen.
Over half of those who were polled said the decor, fixtures and fittings will be most likely to tire quickly, primarily due to cooking. Other elements that need changing include the worktops, sinks and taps, while one in six adults need to revamp their tiling. On top of this, a fifth want to replace their appliances, including the oven and dishwasher, while 14 per cent are looking to add an 'on-trend' colour to their walls.
There are other little upgrades being considered too - for instance, replacing showers, cracked tiles, door knobs and torn wallpaper.
When they were asked why some upgrades remained on their to-do list, 36 per cent said it was because they lacked the time, while another 15 per cent said they don't feel confident to take on the job themselves. Another 10 per cent are put off due to the cost of DIY.
