Sainsbury's has officially launched a brand new range of tasty critter treats…

While I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here still reigns supreme on our televisions, supermarket giant, Sainsbury's has launched its very own range of bush tucker trial-worthy food.

That's right, you can now buy a packet of Smoky BBQ Crunchy Roasted Crickets right in your supermarket aisles for just £1.50 per pack!

Recommended for use as a crunchy topping for tacos, noodles, or salads, not only are these bugs seriously weird, but they are also full of protein!

Gram for gram, dried crickets contain more protein than beef, chicken, and even pork – with 100g containing 68g of protein, in comparison to just 31g of protein in beef.

Plus, just in case you weren't sold already, these little critters are also really sustainable, as bugs emit considerably lower levels of greenhouse gases than most livestock and are much more efficient in terms of the resources needed to farm them.

Want to try out these eco-friendly insects? Head to your local Sainsbury's store and purchase for just £1.50!
