Say hello to London's first 'rubbish' café!

Posted 3rd May 2018

Giving a new meaning to the phrase 'flash your plastic', Ecover, the eco-friendly detergent brand, has launched London's first 'Rubbish' café – a café that only accepts recyclable plastic as payment.

Located in London's Covent Garden for the 3rd and 4th May, the Ecover Rubbish Café will serve a delicious zero-waste menu from eco-chef Tom Hunt, and will be kitted out with a stylish upcycled décor inspired by eco-designer Max McMurdo, all in celebration of the arrival of Ecover’s new recyclable washing-up liquid range.

Items on the menu include:

  • The Revolution Bowl - Spelt and rye grains with red kale, cranberries, hazelnuts, beetroot soya-yoghurt, roasted rhubarb and a pickled hen's egg
  • The Mother Nature Bowl - Wild turmeric rice, cauliflower and leaves, golden sultanas, coriander, chaat masala, coconut (vegan)
  • The Rubbish Bowl - Puy lentil salad with sprouting broccoli, dried apple, wild garlic pesto, pink peppercorns, feta and seaweed
  • Banana bread – made from saved bananas
  • You’ll also be able to swap your plastic for a coffee provided by Over Under.

To find Ecover's Rubbish Café, head to 25 Long Acre, Covent Garden, London between 8am and 4pm on Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th May 2018.
