The Big Garden Bird Watch is back this weekend!
Taking place from 27th - 29th January, this is one of the biggest weekends for wildlife. So get stuck in and help the RSPB with the UK's biggest bird count!
"How do I take part?" we hear you call! Well never fear, because the RSPB has put together a fantastic starter pack which will give you all the details you need on taking part. To download your starter pack, visit www.rspb.org.uk.
By joining in with the Big Garden Bird Watch you'll be contributing vital data to the RSPB and their efforts to protect the UK's wildlife.
Simply take 1 hour out of your weekend and follow these steps:
1. Choose a time of day that’s convenient for you. You’ll probably see more birds if you do it early in the morning, but any time of day you can do it is useful. The event takes place over three days: Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
2. Make yourself comfortable and watch the birds for an hour. Record the highest number of each bird species that you see at any one time. Then answer the other questions about other wildlife species that visit your garden during the year.
3. Don’t worry if you don’t see anything over the hour, as it’s still really useful information for the RSPB!
Good luck with your Birdwatch! Let us know what you see and don't forget to join in the conversation using the hashtag #BigGardenBirdwatch.
