You will need

Bosch PSB 18 LI-2 ergonomic drill
two strings of 20 warm white LED micro battery fairy lights, Lights4Fu
1 Cut your piece of plywood down to size – we trimmed ours to 55cm x 66cm. Sand the edges to remove any splinters. Download and print (onto four A4 sheets) the Twinkle template. Stick the four sheets together and turn it over so it’s face down. Scribble over the back of the template using a HB pencil. Turn it back over and tape it to the front of your board. Trace around the edge of the letters with a ballpoint pen, pushing down hard – this should transfer the design onto the wood.
2 Remove the template, and lightly draw over the traced lettering on the board to make it easier to see. Paint the board with Chalky Finish paint, leaving the letters unpainted. Once thoroughly dry, place the template back into position and tape down once more. Drill through each of the holes using an 8mm drill bit, going through both the paper and the board.
3 Carefully remove the template and flip your board over. Carefully position your strings of fairy lights so that each bulb pokes through one of the holes, holding it in place with strips of masking tape. Finally, use further strips of tape or glue to secure the battery pack to the back of the board.
Use your computer to create a different slogan or phrase to paint onto your board for a truly bespoke item.
