With summer on its way, now is the perfect time to organise your garage or garden shed, so that when the warmer weather kicks in next month, you’ll be ready to reach for the paddling pool, barbecue or garden furniture. Follow our useful tips to get your garage looking great.
- To get started, empty the garage out, get rid of anything you don’t need any more and give the space a good clean. This will help to give you a better idea of what you have in there and if everything is still in good condition. Then make a plan of where you would like to store each item. One corner could become a place to store all your tools, another to keep electricals such as your lawnmower and another for the children’s toys.
- If you or another family member sometimes uses the garage as a workshop or for another purpose, consider painting the walls to make it look a little brighter and think about investing in some storage solutions to organise your belongings.
- While the garage is clear, why not make the most of the opportunity and give the car a good clean? Clear out all the rubbish that may have accumulated over time and give it a good wash. You’re then ready to park your clean car back in your newly-organised garage, which will feel like a whole new room.
- Store’s Elfa storage solution, shown above, is a great choice for a garage or shed, enabling you to organise all sorts of items and achieve a clutter-free space. Individual components can be added to create your own, customised solution, including shelving, tool storage boards, hooks, hangers and clip-on storage bins for smaller bits and bobs. Various kits are available, but if your space doesn’t meet the criteria for these, simply contact Store who will be happy to plan a custom storage solution for your garage or shed at no charge.
Why not use upcycled jam jars to store loose screws and nails?
