By definition, a weed is a wild plant that grows where it isn't wanted, among cultivated plants, but in some cases they can easily be mistaken for flowers because of their appearance.

With a little experience, most gardeners should be able to learn to easily identify weeds and get rid of them, but it's not quite so easy for beginners. Many UK gardens feature plenty of plants posing as flowers, causing many of us to be unknowingly housing a garden full of weeds.

To help out less experienced gardeners, co-op insurance has identified the most common misconceptions and created a fun quiz to test your gardening knowledge on which are weeds and which are plants. Do you know your weeds from your flowers? Try our quiz below!
