Create a vintage-inspired display

You will need
26cm round wooden bread board, £1, Poundland
deep violet acrylic paint, £2.75 per 75ml tube, HobbyCraft

Directions


Begin by painting the bread board with purple acrylic paint, leave to dry. Paint a second coat if required. Trim a small branch to fit inside the glass dome, hold the dome over the branch to check the size is correct.









Stick the branch to the middle of the purple board, use a generous amount of glue. When the glue is set add several small spots of glue around the base of the branch and cover with moss, this will hide the glue. You can add a little moss to the branch for an authentic touch.








Remove the wires from the butterflies. Spray the front of the butterflies with a coat of white paint and leave to dry. When they are dry, glue them to the branch, adding a couple of butterflies around the base too. Place the dome over the branch and sit it down on the board. Fix a large butterfly to the top of the dome to finish.




Tip
If you don't have a glass dome, create a display inside a glass vase instead.
